The City of Los Angeles is required to make information about the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and how it applies to City services, programs, and activities available to applicants, participants, beneficiaries, and other interested persons. This requirement is referred to as the “Public Notice” requirement.
The City’s Public Notice is available online at https://disclaimer.lacity.gov/accessibility.htm. Each department must provide an “Accessibility” link that directs to this webpage in the following locations:
Each webpage - footer or other consistent location
Each mobile app - in an area readily accessible to users
Each social media account in the profile or bio section of the account
Additionally, Departments are strongly encouraged to post a physical copy of the City’s Public Notice at locations where public services are provided, including, but not limited to, service counters, recreation centers, and libraries.
Departments should also include an abbreviated version of the Public Notice (referred to as an "Accessibility Statement") in public information materials such as public event announcements, public meeting notices and agendas, programs, brochures, and flyers. See the Accessibility Statement section of this website for recommended content, provided in multiple languages.
The Public Notice and Accessibility Statement must be provided to individuals with disabilities in alternative formats, upon request.
